After G-d frees Jews from Egyptian slavery He tells them that since He liberated them, now they have to be His slaves. It is like a gangster who defeats a rival mafia group and tells their captives: "I am liberating you! But since I was the one who freed you, now you are my slaves." What kind of freedom is this?
